Things to keep in mind before designing your bathroom

OK then!
So you want to design your bathroom do you?
Can't wait to get those creative hands of yours dirty.
Can't wait to take a bath in that new spacious bathroom that you and only you have designed!
Well now lets just slow down a little and take a deep breath shall we.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind before you go jumping in , otherwise you might find your self stumbling into a few rough waters on the way.

Here are a few bullet points to keep in mind before you go digging tiles out and knocking walls down:

• How do you see your bathroom compared to rooms around it.
  
  
• Are you looking for something a little fancy in your bathroom like a luxury shower or spa, or do you just want to go for the basics.
  
  
• Will you also be using your bathroom to apply makeup or maybe shave.
  
  
• Is there sufficient light in your bathroom or will you be needing more of it.
  
  
• Do you have a window, and is it situated in a place that collects water. Does this cause problems.
  
  
• Do you have enough ventilation.
  
  
• Do you have enough electric outlets and are they situated in the right places.
  
  
• Do you need more counter space around your sink.
  
  
• Are there enough towel racks and storage room.
  
  
• Is your bath tub and /or shower large enough.
  
  
• Will you be designing your bathroom for just one person to be in it at a time, or are you looking at making it big enough to allow two people to move freely inside it at the same time.
  
  
• Will children and/or seniors and/or disabled people be using your bathroom.
